This year's Student Research Conference on Gender attracted students and faculty from all over our region, providing students from many disciplines with the opportunity to present their work, to meet students and faculty from other institutions, and to hear a renowned expert, Dr. Irene Frieze, discuss some of the dramatic changes that have happened in Eastern Europe with respect to women's roles. For
its work to go forward, the Center for Gender Studies must build its endowment.
It needs funds to support its student research conference and other events,
to subsidize pilot research that provides the basis for larger grant applications,
to provide scholarships for students to attend professional conferences,
to publish and distribute research findings.
