Dr. Sudie Back is on the faculty of the Medical University of South Carolina, in the Department of Psychiatry as an Associate Professor in the division of Clinical Neurosciences. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Georgia and completed her clinical internship at the Yale University School of Medicine. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at MUSC. In 2007, she was a Visiting Academic at the University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia. Dr. Back's clinical expertise includes substance use disorders, trauma, and PTSD. Currently, her research interests include treatment of comorbid PTSD and substance use disorders, relationship between stress reactivity and addiction and co-editing Women & Addiction. | Update: Dr. Cynthia Hall is currently an Assistant Professor in developmental and social psy-chology in the College of Business, Human-ities & Social Sciences at the West Virginia University Institute of Technology. Dr. Hall's focus en-compasses adolescent through adult attachment relationships, interpersonal relationships, social cognition associated with autism spectrum disorders, and terror management theory and emotion regulation. She teaches courses in social development, lifespan development, research methods, and exceptional children. Prior to her position at WVU Tech she taught at Radford University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. At Radford University As a student, Dr. Back graduated with a M.A. from RU’s Clinical Psychology concentration in 1997. In addition she was the Gender Center's graduate assistant and with Claudia Diaz Zuniga, collaborated with Dr. Lips, presenting research on "Spanish University Students' Perceptions of Powerful Men and Powerful Women" and "Possible Powerful Selves: An International Perspective" helping to launch the Center's first (1996) Research Conference on Gender. |
At Radford University As a student, Dr. Cynthia Hall completed her undergraduate work at RU, then graduated with an M.A. from RU’s concentration in Experimental Psychology in 2006. She collaborated with Dr. Jeff Aspelmeier and Jose Loomis in presenting research on "Gender and Exploration in College: Academic and social differences among women and men in navigating the challenges of college life" at the Center's 2007 Conference. |
