ABSTRACT
"Many young men and women ideally envision a future in which domestic labor and childcare is shared equally. However, equality is harder to achieve than people realize.
In this talk, we will discuss research on the division of labor and childcare, including several research studies that we have conducted, in order to examine why the division of
household chores and childcare remains inequitable despite a frequent desire by both member of the couple for a more equitable division. We will also examine whether
feminist identified women are able to maintain equality after marriage and children and reveal that, although feminist women may experience more equality than their
non-feminist peers, they also do not achieve the level of equality that they hope for."
