Presentation Abstract1
"What does it mean to be free and self-determining in a world of social, political, and economic hierarchies?  Let’s talk about how black women navigate structures, institutions, and relationships to secure not only themselves but their families and communities.  As leaders and fighters, black women have braved every aspect of injustice but still manage to win.  When Rep. Maxine Waters boldly reclaimed her time during a congressional hearing, she uttered a liberation ideology for all of us women.1Dr. Brandy Faulkner.
